Church History

What started as a small group meeting at Blacklick State Park in 1994 has grown to over 500 people meeting each weekend on our own 78 acre property, Sycamore Creek Church has seen a lot of changes over the last 15 years! SCC began as 9 people from Pickerington who had a vision for a new kind of church – one that was Biblical, relevant, and challenging, but also laid-back and completely pressure-free. From 1995 to 2002, the church met in Pickerington Square Shopping center, the current site of Pickerington’s Giant Eagle store. Attendance skyrocketed from 15 to 400 during this time. Although, the number of people coming is not our focus, we are thrilled to be a part of a growing community of people who are excited about God and reaching out to others. Our goal is to give all those we come in contact with the opportunity for a changed life. In 2001, the current property was purchased, and Phase 1 of the church facility was completed in 2002, which is what you see today. Phase 2 will happen when God is ready. In the meantime you’ll find us striving for authenticity and depth in our relationships with others and growth in our relationships with God, and helping to change the lives of those around us for the better. And we’re doing it together.
